Where the wind-scoured Mongolian mountains give way to vast grasslands lies Khan Steppe, a rugged landscape where traditional nomadic ways of life run deep. Branching off the lone highway, the crumbling Soviet-era concrete of Uushig Soum Centre serves as a gateway to the wilderness beyond, where traditional horsemen conquer the land and dominate the Naadam races. Will you embrace the freedom of the plains and tame the wild herds, or anchor yourself to the quiet trading routine of the Soum Centre? Expect your resourcefulness to be tested either way.

Population

The populated version of Khan Steppe includes 8 households (plus 16 custom Townies and Service NPCs) totalling 28 sims and 16 pets, to see detailed information about each of the included households CLICK HERE.

Gameplay Notes

The only showers located in Khan Steppe are in the central soum bathhouse, as plumbing is limited due to the steppe's impenetrable permafrost. For bathing outside of the bathhouse, residents and tourists are recommended to purchase shower-in-a-can's from the grocery store (with anak-ponti's grocery store mod) or take a sponge bath (with the inappropriate trait, or mikey's unrestricted sponge baths mod). All residential properties, and most commercial lots, are outfitted with outhouses and off-the-grid sinks for bladder and dish washing requirements.

The only roads other than the highway are located in the Soum Centre, out on the open steppe sims will need to rely on their feet, or horses to get around.

Horse breeders may sell their pets for profit to friends or at the consignment register (in the Uushig Soum Delguur lot) using nraas consigner.

While superficial climate changes have been made in the ini files, use of the nraas tempest preset included with the world download is recommended to experience the full force of Mongolia's brutally cold winters. For this, the Tempest_Mongolia.package file must be moved to your Library folder and installed into your game using nraas overwatch as outlined HERE.

Lyralei - functional sheep

Having the sheep mod installed results in the below popup every time the game is opened. For players who do not want that, or otherwise do not want to download additional content beyond the world, a Khan Steppe version without the use of the sheep is also available.

All other custom content required for the world is included in a cc merged package file with the world download. For players who do not want to use the merged file, a list of all the required custom content is provided HERE.
